Choosing to make a commitment to nourish your mental health is not always a simple or straightforward decision. If you have allowed yourself to begin your healing journey, or pick up where you left off, you have come to the right place by selecting OBCT for your counseling needs.

My name is Mary, and I am a LPC-Associate, supervised by Amy Hutchinson, LPC-S, RPT-S. I am a Chicago native, but have spent the last almost 4 years in San Antonio. While a counseling graduate student, I completed my practicum and intership requirements at UTSA's Sarabia Center and Esperanza Eating Disorder Recovery Center where I counseled individuals with vast backgrounds and challenges. My focus is always to provide the best kind of care for my clients, whatever that may look like.

I have used several counseling theories and interventions to support clients with what they present with and ask for. I have learned throughout my years of counseling that typically an integrative approach is needed to embrace a sensible strategy for tackling issues. I have used interventions from SFBT, CBT, trauma-focused care, client-centered theory, DBT, ACT, mindfulness practices, creative interventions, and play therapy in my experience working with a range of diverse clients with different needs.

I have experience working with client's who come to counseling with issues regarding:
• Interpersonal relationships
• Trauma, PTSD
• Depression
• Anxiety
• Disordered Eating and Body Image
• Gender and Sexuality
• Self-esteem
• Skill Development and Maintenance
• Emotional Intelligence
