Hi! I’m LaKisha Holmes, an LPC Associate under the supervision of Jamie Fletcher, LPC-S. I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. I work with children, adolescents, and adults, with a special interest in young adults and maternal mental health. I support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, and life transitions, as well as those navigating trauma, grief, or challenges with self-esteem.

I know that opening up to someone about the things you are going through isn’t always easy. Because of that, creating a space where my clients feel comfortable, heard, and supported is very important to me. I take the time to listen and understand not only what brings you to therapy, but also who you are and what matters to you. You don’t have to have the right words or have everything figured out before you walk through the door.

I believe therapy should meet you where you are. Every person comes into counseling with different experiences, strengths, and needs, so I use a variety of therapeutic approaches rather than treating everyone the same. Depending on what you need, our work may include developing coping skills, learning to manage difficult emotions, or building confidence in yourself. I want our time together to give you practical tools while also providing the space to work through the things that may be weighing on you.

I especially enjoy working with young adults who are finding their way through new responsibilities, relationships, and changes in life. Maternal mental health is also an area that is close to my heart. Pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood can bring many emotions and adjustments, and moms often spend so much time caring for others that their own needs can get lost along the way. I want women to have a place where their well-being matters too.

Above all, I want you to know that therapy is your space. My role is to support you, help you recognize the strengths you already carry, and work alongside you as you make changes that are meaningful to you. Wherever you are when you begin, we can start there.
