Shelby ZookShelby Zook, Student Counselor
Hi there, my name is Shelby Zook, and I am a Student Counselor currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Counseling at Our Lady of the Lake University. I am working toward licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas.

I take a person-centered and strengths-based approach to counseling. I believe that each client is the expert in their own life, and my role is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and respected. I approach each session with genuine curiosity and a deep respect for your lived experience, trusting that growth happens when individuals feel truly accepted.

I have a special interest in grief and loss, life transitions, anxiety, adjustment concerns, and relationship stress. I am particularly passionate about helping clients explore meaning in their experiences and navigate seasons of change with compassion toward themselves.

The counseling relationship is a collaborative partnership. Together, we will explore your thoughts, emotions, patterns, and barriers in a way that fosters insight and self-awareness. Rather than giving advice, I aim to walk alongside you as you clarify your goals, strengthen your inner resources, and move toward healing and wholeness.

I believe everyone deserves a space where their story can be told safely and without judgment. It is an honor to accompany clients on their journey toward resilience, self-understanding, and meaningful change.
