Hi, I’m Amy! I obtained my Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY. As a Boerne native, I am grateful to be back and serving those in my hometown and surrounding areas.
My past clinical experience involved working in substance abuse residential treatment with adolescent females. In 2021, I transitioned into my role here at Olive Branch where I practice individual counseling with teenagers and adults from a variety of populations.
My therapy approach includes using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as my main treatment modalities. I take a trauma-informed approach with all clients while utilizing the wisdom of each of the above modalities. I also consider the clients individual needs. I was EMDR trained through an EMDRIA approved training course and have completed PSI and Policy Center for Maternal Mental Health Professional Maternal Mental Health Certificate Training.
I have a special interest in working with clients suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), survivors of sexual trauma, anxiety, life transitions and perinatal mental health (pregnancy and post-partum mental health).
My main goal in therapy is to provide hope to my clients. Specifically, hope that despite life’s continual difficult circumstances, joy, contentment and thriving can still be found. I feel honored to sit with people in the most difficult times of their life and to be there to listen, provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions and unconditional support.
