Katherine Gomez, LPC Associate supervised by Aimee Rhodes, MS, LPC-S
Hi! My name is Katherine Gomez and I am an LPC Associate supervised by Aimee Rhodes MS, LPC-S. While acquiring my degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I had the privilege of completing my practicum at the community counseling clinic at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas and my internship at a non-profit mental health agency for lower socioeconomic status individuals as well as individuals of the LGBTQIA+community. This allowed me to have experience working with a diverse range of clients including kiddos in the playroom, young adults, older adults, and teens.
When counseling, I often use a holistic, person-centered approach. I also practice with a more eclectic style that includes interventions from Narrative Therapy, IFS, CBT, DBT, as well as Expressive Arts modalities. I will often incorporate mindfulness techniques and trauma-informed care into my approach depending on the specific needs of the client. Additionally, I hold a certification in Play Therapy which allows a child to work in their first language of play. This wide skills set is designed to fully support you or your child’s unique needs.
Because no individual is the same, I am always eager to expand on various theories and approaches in order to provide the level of care that you or your child deserve. My first priority is always to foster a nurturing and safe environment for my clients while building a lasting foundation for an authentic and trusting therapeutic relationship. My goal is to provide you or your little one with unconditional support and compassion as we ride the wave that life has to offer together.
I have experience working closely with clients of all ages regarding the following:
- Anger Management
- Depression and Anxiety
- Suicidal Ideation
- Trauma / PTSD
- ADHD
- Borderline Personality Disorder
- Grief & Loss
- Stress Management
- Life Transitions
